Chase The Split, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Chase The Split rowing analytics platform at chasethesplit.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us:
- Account information — username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
- Rowing workout data — split times, stroke rates, distances, and related training metrics you import or log manually
- Concept2 OAuth data — if you connect your Concept2 logbook, we store the access token needed to sync your workouts
- Waitlist emails — if you join our waitlist, we store your email address
- Payment information — processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details
We also collect information automatically:
- Page views, referrer URLs, browser type, and approximate geographic location (country/city level) for analytics
- Session cookies to keep you logged in
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Chase The Split platform
- To sync your Concept2 workout data on your behalf
- To send transactional emails (password reset, waitlist notification)
- To process your subscription payment via Stripe
- To understand how users interact with our site so we can improve it
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Concept2 — workout data sync (only when you authorize it)
- Anthropic — your rowing data is sent to Claude AI to power the in-app chat assistant; it is not used to train Anthropic models
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and workout data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at jay@chasethesplit.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including password hashing, HTTPS-only connections, and PostgreSQL-backed session storage. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
Chase The Split is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
